Khyrunnisa delighted ‘Butterfingers’ at KV Pattom

The avid readers of Butterfinger stories had their moments of delight at Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom on 14 February 2013 when the popular author of two well received children’s fiction books, Howzzat Butterfingers! and Goal Butterfingers!, Ms Khyrunnisa A., became the chief guest in the “Meet the Author” programme organized by the Readers’ Club.

Ms Khyrunnisa, in her address, urged children to read more to become great achievers in their life. She spoke about the impact of reading on deep learning and ask youngsters to reduce the time spend on gadgets which will decrease their physical activity and mental development.  She also talked about her favourite books and authors.

Students enjoyed the extracts Ms Khyrunnisa read out from her books. She told them the storyline and the incidents which lead her to write them. In the question-answer session, she detailed about her transformation to a full time writer from an occasional story teller on children’s magazines.

Ms Khyrunnisa presented prizes to the winners of competitions held in the Library.

Mrs B.S. Valsala Nair welcomed the gathering and introduced the author. Ms Rekha Rajan presented a memento to Ms Khyrunnisa where as Mr S.L.Faisal, Librarian (Shift-I) delivered the vote of thanks.
