Summer Reading Challenge 2024

KVS Ernakulam Region launches Summer Reading Challenge (SRC) 2024.

The Summer Reading Challenge (SRC)programme is a combined subject enrichment activity, jointly conducted by the language teachers and the librarian of your school to promote pleasure reading during the summer vacation.

A suggested list of books (hard copy/ebook/online) for all the three categories of students (classes 3-5, 6-9 & 10-12) is shared here https://kvsekmeresources.in/src2024.php

All participating students are suggested to read any 3-5 books (from the given list of books or of their own choice) during the summer vacation.

After reading each book, post here an original review of the book (write in your of language). The review should include the title & author of the book and the name, class & division of the student. A team of teachers will select the best book review from each category by evaluating the padlet. The evaluation criteria include originality, language, content and style of presentation of the reviews.

The best reviews from each category will be presented with merit Certificates and prizes. The student from each category who read maximum number of books and posted their reviews on the padlet will also be honoured with prizes.

The school level padlets will be compiled and shared at regional level with all KVs in the region.

SRC suggests students to read any book of their choice. They may read it online or offline. Links to some websites with free e-books are given below.

You may read the personal copies ofbooks or get it from your local public libraries, lending libraries and home libraries.

How to post your reviews to the pardet?

  1. Visit the category-wise padlet. (see thhe links given above)
  2. Click the + button in the bottom right
  3. Add the title & author of the book in the subject line.
  4. Write your review. You may add the cover image of the book by using the image search button pop up when you click the three dots.
  5. Click Publish to post it on the Padlet.
