“Imagine without limits and live your passion”- Archana Gopinath

“Imagine without limits and live your passion”, said Ms. Archana Gopinath, founder of The Reading Room . She was interacting with the students of KV Pattom in a session titled ‘Reading Rhetoric’, organized by the Readers’ Club, in connection with the National Library Week celebrations on 16 November 2019.

Ms. Archana, a civil engineer by profession, enumerated how a passion for books and reading made her choose a new career path through launching a children’s library ‘the Reading Room’ in Thiruvananthapuram that became a popular social space for everyone who loves books.

Mr. S.Ajayakumar welcomed Ms. Archana Gopinath while Ms. Samanwita, Secretary, Readers’ Club proposed the vote of thanks.

Vinu Abraham inaugurated National Library Week 2019

Shri Vinu Abraham, famous Malayalam writer inaugurated the National Library Week celebrations of KV Pattom on 14 November 2019. In his speech, he recalled the research carried out by him for the film ‘Celluloid’, the real story of the first heroine of Malayalam film industry, and detailed the historical importance of the place where the school is now situated. Mr Vinu Abraham urged the students to use libraries effectively and make library visits a habit.

Shri S. Ajayakumar, Principal, presided over the function.

“When you write, the whole world will inspire you”-Vinu Abraham

Shri. Vinu Abraham, short story writer, novelist, scriptwriter, and media person talked extensively on reading, writing, and cinema in the ‘Meet the Writer’ programme organized in connection with the National Library Week celebrations on 14 November 2019 in the KV Pattom Library.

Shri Vinu detailed the differences in the thought process required when writing a book and a script for a film.  He answered questions by students on creative writing and films. He recalled his school life and shared the role of libraries in his career to become a successful writer.
